HC System

Chemically-fixed hidden system

The HC system is an exclusively chemical ventilated facade system and, therefore, features hidden fixing. It is designed for outdoor facade cladding using 6 mm thick Neolith panels. For safety reasons, a fiberglass mesh is applied to the back of the panels to prevent shattering caused by accidental breakage.

This system includes support and retention brackets, vertical profiles (T-100x50x2 mm and L-42x50x2 mm sections) and chemical adhesion system of the Neolith cladding panels. The chemical fixing includes pre-treatments for both the profile and slab (for enhanced adhesion), double-sided adhesive tape and adhesive. The support and retention brackets properly level the vertical profiles making possible to correct any irregularities in the support wall behind the facade to be cladded. A minimum horizontal and vertical joint of 5 mm between Neolith panels is recommended.

2. Aluminum bracket

3.  Vertical aluminum "T" or "L" profile

4. Adhesive

5. Double-sided adhesive tape

6. Neolith slab

HC System Installation Steps

Substructure distribution and installation:

01.

Dimensions of the perpendicular substructure depends on the façade construction. The distances between the substructure battens and their width are determined by the load requirements and by the type of panel used.

Bonding-tape application:

01.

Apply Double Side Tape over the whole length of the vertical sections and parallel to the edges.

02.

Do not pull off the protective foil at this time.

03.

Apply Structural Adhesive in a triangular bead by using the triangular nozzle supplied (width 8 mm, height 10 mm) with at least 5 mm gap to the fixing tape and to the side of the batten.

Application method:

01.

Clean the surface with a clean, grease and fl uff free cellulose cloth or cleaning paper soaked, wiping the surface in one direction only (dirty cloths must be replaced).

02.

Apply one thin coat of primer uniformly all over the surface with a brush or felt pad. Allow a fl ash off time of at least 30 minutes. The back Neolith surface to be bonded must be clean, dry and free from grease.

Neolith slab placing:

01.

Remove the protective foil on the Double Side Tape.

02.

Place the cladding panel in the required position on the adhesive bead without the panel touching the fixing tape. To simplify mounting, the panels should be carefully designed. Position the panels precisely and press them firmly until they contact the Structural Adhesive Panel fixing tape.
